Camp Royaneh is a Nationally Accredited BSA Scout Camp owned and
Council was formed in June 2020 by the merger of the Alameda
Council, Mt. Diablo Silverado Council and the San Francisco Bay Area
Council.
Ourcampislocated2.5milessouthoftheNorthernCaliforniatownof Cazadero,100milesnorthofSanFrancisco.Thepropertywasacquired inApril1925bytheSanFranciscoCouncilandopenedonJune22,1925 asthefirstpermanentsummercampoftheSanFranciscoCouncil.OvertheyearsthecamphasgrownfromafewhundredScoutsthefirst year to well over 4000 Scouts and Scouters each summer. CampRoyanehoperatesmultipleweeklongsessionsduringthe summerandeachyearthecamphoststhousandsofScoutsfromall overtheUnitedStatesincludingCalifornia,Texas,Oregon,Alaska, HawaiiandFlorida.ToeducateourScoutswehaveahighlytrained staffofcoedyouthandyoungadultsfromplaceslikeUtah,Tennessee, Oregon,andevenTaiwan,andFrance,butmostlytheNorthern Californiaarea.Thecampoffersover50differentMeritBadges,with thepossibilityofmorebeingannouncedatcamp,aswellasmany awards to earn and lots of activities to partake in that are just fun.AsoneoftheoldestcontinuouslyoperatedScoutcampsinallof California,CampRoyanehiscomprisedofover345acresofprivate scoutproperty.CampRoyanehoffersachancetohike,backpack,ride horses,rockclimb,swimandparticipateinarodeoallinoneweek. Scoutscantrytheirhandatblackpowdermusketfiring,rappelling, archeryandevenorienteering.ExpertinstructioninEaglerequired meritbadgesandpopularoutdoorskillmeritbadgeslikepioneering willmaketheScoutcraftareacomealive.Thecampisrichinwildlife andallowsforthestudyofnature,conservation,wildlifemanagement, woodcraft and even plant science.ThemajesticstandsofmatureRedwoodsandthetemperateclimate spelladventureforthenewunitaswellasseasonedunitsthatlikesto takeiteasyandtesttheirskills.Our300,000gallonpoolisagreatplace for swimming or just relaxing.
